I'm back with Mouses updates

Wow I really can not believe that I haven't blogged since January!! To be fair life has been one big massive whirlwind for us both individually and as a family over the past few months!!

Well we hope everyone is well and have had a great few months... Ok so u want to know what we have been up to right?? Well firstly...
I have as per normal, been Mouse's personal taxi driver. Lots of very important competitions have taken place.

Blackpool British Qualifiers - Mouse competed in solo, crew, team, big and little, electric boogie solos, battle solos  and electric boogie duos. This was an intense competition as the complete set up was being ran differently to how it is normally ran, and let's just say it wasn't as smooth running as the organisers expected!! Anyway mouse didn't qualify in the solos and big and little however in electronic boogie duos both her and her partner (Beth) came 2nd place qualifying for worlds in Austria, her crew came 4th narrowly missing getting worlds, but qualified for the Europeans in Czech Republic. Her team came 3rd also qualifying for Worlds.

HIp Hop International, Portsmouth - mouse competed in this competition with IMD in both their new crew Rejets sand in the Mega Crew. IMD juniors won their category, and the Mega Crew came 2nd place but the varsity crews didn't qualify this year unfortunately.

Mouse then went on in March to work with IMD in their new promo video, in fact she did two!! One we are still waiting on being released. Exciting I know... A promo photo shoot was also done for her with her dance teacher who I must say is a very talented man and fantastic photographer. This was done as mouse has some new opportunities heading her way, I will let you know about these when I can 😉 here are a few pictures that he took.

Next was a big performance for mouse and IMD at the London Excel in the show Move It. Not only were IMD dancing at this event but they al so we're supporting the charity Dance Aid. This was a fantastic opportunity for mouse and one of which she is very grateful for.
At this event mouse had the pleasure of meeting Jennifer Allison who's show Mouse just loves! So what a day it was to support such a great and worth while cause and meet Jennifer!!

On Saturday Mouse was asked to attend Pineapple Dance Studios to take part in an audition for London Elite Dance Company. Now this was an audition that was very different to what Mouse is used to, however she embraced the opportunity and walked out nearly 2 hours later with one of the biggest smile les on her face. I was so pleased to see and hear just how much she enjoyed it. Now we are waiting to hear if Mouse made it, but to be honest, we are just grateful to of been given the opportunity to of experienced this audition.

Then lastly to top of March for Mouse, she went along to 101 Events competition to support a team she helps teach of a weekend and decided to compete in her solo. Mouse won coming 1st place. Now she goes into April with more auditions so I promise to keep you all updated!!

There are a couple of videos Mouse has on you tube if you want to follow her go to Maisie_IMD9 to watch her freestyle videos.

Dance

On Sunday, we were up and out mega early again. Why? Well because it was competition day of course!!

Maisie and her dance friends all competited at the competition in Grays, Essex.

The running order was solos, crew, duo and teams. The comp was ment to start at 9.30, but they never seem to do. There is just so much organising to do before hand. So Maisie and her friends were up and prasticing their routines and listening to the music ready for solos.

The comp actually kicked off at 10. Maisie went into the under 14s advanced and freestyled her dance. Maisie got through to the next round, and then did a spot light section. Again Maisie danced her socks off and was in her teachers words "sick" and took 1st Place. Proud we are!!

Next up was crews, now our lil crew were amazing but the judges were not on our side this week, obviously looking for different dance to what they delivered!

Duo. This was a hard section as it went straight to a final but the girls have it there all even thou they had done their duo for weeks and were placed 3rd in Under14s Advanced.

Next up were the teams. I love watching this section of the comp. The team danced and to be honest were the strongest team in their category Under 16s Advanced. This was proved by the team coming 1st place!!! Overall a fantastic day with everyone and some astonishing results.

We have some more news to tell soon but it's all a secret for now.  Eeeek!

Fun Day Fund Raiser

Sunday 24th May 2015, was in fact a great day for us. We had been planning for months with our daughters duo partners parents a fun day in our local area to help raise funds for them to go towards their dance expenses, stress levels were through the roof, sleepless nights worrying about forgetting something and stressing over the weather!!!

So the day started with the sun shining and us arriving at 6.30am to set the fete stalls up, set the area up for the boot fair and craft sellers and start organising the volunteers. We were busy setting up when we noticed the que of cars waiting to get in. It was then it became apparent, that all our advertising had in fact had an impact. We were taken by surprise, just how many people did come along for the boot fair/craft fair.

So once the day started we had many people come along which was just amazing and totally blew us away, and having the sun continuously shining down on us meant that more and more people came along and stayed for many hours!

It seemed that everyone else was also just as pleasantly pleased by the day as many come to both me and Maisie's duo Mum personally to say just how much fun they were having. This was also said all over the our event page and some have in fact asked us to make it an annual event… I think its going to take us 6 months to get over this one hehe…

We had many companies, both local and further afield who came along to support our event, to which we are very grateful for. We also had dancers from our daughters dance school who performed in teams, solos and duos. Alongside the local gymnastic club who did a display and there was also a display from the local Irish Dancing School too… We were very grateful to you all for supporting and performing on the day.. You guys were great, and certainly got people talking..

As parents, who haven't ever organised anything like this before, personally I think it was a success, many faces smiling, people laughing, children having a great time, families making memories, people earning some money from selling what they no longer needed and craft people selling their homemade items however hard you try to please everyone this has proved to be an impossible task..

There have been a couple of people who have moaned that they wasn't treated as royalty and positioned in what they call a 'hot spot', as apparently friends and family got priority.. Rubbish!!! We had 3 lots of family, and 4 lots of friends who attended as both craft and boot sellers and each of them queued up in the long line of others to be placed on the field. It is such a shame that these people felt the need to complain over something so small, all we can think of is the reason was because they didn't sell their items as well as they expected and were a little grieved.. Oh well the many positive comments out rule the negative two!

Once again a massive thank you for all the support everyone showed, and massive thank you to everyone who came along and have asked for it to b a yearly event!!

Here are our girls with the Mayor & Mayoress.
